Image Tracer takes a PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF and rebuilds it as an SVG made of coloured filled paths. It is well suited to logos, icons, flat illustrations, and stylised artwork that need to scale to any size or be edited in a vector tool. The image is decoded, traced, and rendered to SVG entirely in your browser.
After the image loads, choose a preset from the toolbar or open the controls grid to adjust settings directly. Changes retrace automatically.
An SVG built from coloured filled paths that approximate your raster image. The number of colours, smoothing settings, and path filtering decide how close it stays to the original versus how stylised it becomes.
Images with a limited palette and clean shapes — logos, icons, flat illustrations, simple posters, comic-style artwork. Photographs can be traced but produce large, posterised SVGs that rarely beat a JPG in size or quality.
Detail-heavy images, very high colour counts, low Threshold values, and complex curves all add path data. Try lowering the colour count, raising Threshold to drop tiny paths, or sending the result through Optimise to clean it up.
Everything runs in your browser. The image is decoded into a canvas, traced via a worker, and the SVG is built locally. No upload, no server step.
They are saved combinations of the same settings you can tweak by hand: colour count, quantisation cycles, smoothing thresholds, blur, palette sampling, and stroke width. Pick one as a starting point and adjust from there.
