Image Metadata Viewer reads technical and editorial metadata from photos and graphics, including EXIF camera data, GPS coordinates, IPTC captions, XMP fields, TIFF tags, and ICC color profile details. It is useful for photographers, editors, developers, marketplace teams, and anyone checking what private or production information is embedded in an image.
Processing happens locally in the browser. If you upload an image and want a cleaner public copy, the remove metadata action re-encodes the visible pixels into a new image so common embedded metadata is left out of the exported file.
Does every image contain EXIF data?
No. Many social platforms, optimizers, screenshots, and design exports remove EXIF metadata before the file reaches you.
Can this reveal GPS location?
Yes, when the original file contains GPS tags. The GPS tab stays empty when no location metadata is present.
Is the image uploaded to a server?
No. The file is parsed locally in your browser and the preview uses a temporary local object URL.
