CMYK expresses a color as cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black) percentages, the way most print pipelines describe ink coverage. Because hex is sRGB and CMYK targets a physical gamut, the conversion is a mathematical approximation rather than a colour-managed transform. Use this when a print brief wants ink percentages but you only have a web hex value.
There is no single standard sRGB to CMYK mapping; different RIPs and ICC profiles will pull the result in different directions. Treat the output as a starting point for the printer, not a contract proof.

No. It is the standard mathematical sRGB to CMYK approximation; ICC profiles are not applied.
Dark colors absorb most of their RGB channels, so the K (black) component carries most of the darkening to keep coloured ink usage low.
Use it for briefs and quick mockups. For final press files, run colour-managed exports from your design tool.
